Kathy Cass.   Yoga Therapist/Ayurvedic Health Counselor

Kathy first began her Yoga/Ayurveda journey as a student and "family healer".  Her love of these two practices naturally evolved into becoming a professional practitioner.  Kathy empowers her clients to reconnect with their "true nature" through movement, breath, nature and the arts. She shares these ancient practices for modern living enabling every individual to experience their inherent sense of clarity, calm and vitality. Her style is simple, do-able and is imbued with a sense of ease and humor…fun and functional, peaceful and practical. 

Background/Experience

Kathy Cass MA, C-IAYT, CAHC, AYT-NAMA, BC-DMT (retired) is certified yoga therapist, board certified ayurvedic health counselor, ayurvedic yoga therapist and a retired board certified dance/movement therapist and counselor. She is co-author of the curriculum and training program, “Dance For All” through Arts and Healing Initiative. She continues to be a life long learner and is now integrating Yoga Nidra and Aqua Yoga in her work.

Kathy earned her MA degree in Dance/Movement therapy from New York University and has over 35 years experience as a body/mind wellness practitioner, trainer and educator.  She has served seniors, adults with injuries and/or chronic diseases, cancer survivors, parents and kids, children with special needs, teens and adults with developmental disabilities, caregivers and anyone seeking movement and wellness lifestyle practices for stress reduction, well-being, and fun.

She has been a guest lecturer at UCLA, Scripps College, and CMER at Loyola Marymount University. Kathy is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor at El Camino Community College and Santa Monica College, Emeritus Division. She is advisor and core faculty for the UCLArts and Healing Social Emotional Arts (SEA) program.

Kathy maintains a private practice in Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy and Consulting based in Santa Monica, CA.
